Position Overview
We are recruiting a Senior Antenna/Electromagnetic Engineer to support radome design and development for a number of current and future projects. The role is based at the Parker Meggitt site in Stevenage and reports to the Microwave Design Team Lead. The successful candidate will work within a small, specialist team engaged in electromagnetic design, simulation, analysis, and testing of radomes and their enclosed antennas for a variety of platforms.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying emerging technologies, directing research activity, specifying new products in collaboration with customers, and performing RF design and analysis to support sine‑wave, broadband, and high‑frequency requirements.
- EM technology scanning and opportunity development, including research identification and management.
- Providing technical support to win new business opportunities.
- Deriving system and RF requirements from high‑level requirements.
- Simulating, designing and testing radomes in conjunction with their associated system antennas.
- Supporting legacy products in response to customer queries.
- Acting as lead engineer when allocated to do so on selected new product designs.
- Preparing reports and presentations for internal and external customers as required.
Qualifications
- Degree (preferably higher) in electrical/electronic/antenna engineering or physics.
- 3 to 5 years post‑qualification experience in RF and antenna product design.
- Proven experience in the design of antennas and/or radome products, especially in aerospace and defence.
- Broad RF design experience across typical frequency ranges of 2 to 40 GHz.
- Proficiency in full‑wave simulation packages such as CST Microwave Studio or Ansys HFSS.
- Proficiency in MATLAB programming.
- Hands‑on approach to perform qualification and product acceptance testing.
- Team player with good communication skills and an enthusiastic, positive approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and within agreed timescales.
