As UK Direct Tax Compliance Leader at Parker Meggitt’s Ansty site, you will play a key role in managing and controlling corporation tax procedures, compliance, and tax disclosures across all UK entities. This is a varied and high-impact role requiring excellent tax technical ability, strong project management skills, and a proactive “can do” attitude.

You will lead the preparation, review, and submission of UK corporate tax returns, ensuring all compliance requirements are delivered accurately and on time. You will also be responsible for administering group payment arrangements, liaising with HMRC on UK group Corporation Tax compliance matters, and supporting HMRC risk assessments and enquiries as required.

Working closely with internal finance teams and external consultants, you will provide input on specialist areas including R&D and Patent Box, while helping to maintain robust tax governance and continuous improvement across UK direct tax processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tax professional to take ownership of critical compliance activities within a global engineering business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage collection, interrogation and consolidation of detailed tax packages and related information from site teams
  • Manage preparation and submission of UK entity tax computations and returns
  • 1st review of UK entity tax computations and returns
  • Preparation of group CIR calculations
  • Managing group relief allocation
  • Monitoring of group loss positions and allocations
  • Review of tax disclosures for the statutory accounts of the UK entities

Essential skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for this position

  • ACA/ACCA and/or CTA qualified
  • In depth technical knowledge and experience of Corporation Tax
  • Relevant tax experience in Big 4/leading Mid-Tier and/or large corporate; solid relevant and current tax experience
  • Good awareness of all taxes
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills with the ability to convey complex issues to senior management as appropriate
  • Self-starter and ability to constructively challenge
  • Experience with corporate tax accounting
  • Broad experience of finance and tax technology
  • Great project management skills

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience with Alphatax software
