We’re looking for an inspiring Health, Safety & Environment Lead with a background in manufacturing to champion a world-class safety culture at our CVD Coventry site in Holbrooks. In this key lead role, you’ll drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our safety and environmental standards, ensuring our people, operations, and workplace remain safe, compliant, and future-ready.
You’ll take the lead in embedding best practice across the site, supporting teams to think proactively, act responsibly, and continually raise the bar. You’ll also ensure all company, country, legal, safety, and environmental requirements are met, while maintaining key certifications such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Provide clear direction, communication and leadership in the BU’s management of EHS systems, policies and procedures. Ensure adherence, continual improvement and involvement at all levels within the Safety Management System and PLS toolbox.
- Ensure employee engagement through the promotion and achievement of safe and healthy conditions, along with effective communications and the provision of high-quality training
- Implement assessment and review processes to identify and manage health and safety risks to employees, customers, partners and any other people who could be affected by our activities
- Arrange for the effective planning, organisation, control, monitoring and review of preventive and protective measures
- Ensure the organisation has access to competent health and safety advice
- Ensure that employees are consulted about their risks at work and current preventive and protective measures
- Ensure timely reporting of all EHS targets and standards including lost Parker recordable incidents, recordable accidents, near misses, corporate assessments, compliance and other non-conformances and ensure their effective investigation and closure.
- Responsible for creating, developing and maintaining clear and effective EHS systems and procedures to recognised standards such as ISO14001 and ISO45001 which meet company, country and European legal and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Leads and manages an EHS program for change which includes new processes, equipment, materials and people.
Essential skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for this position
- Commitment to working on-site Monday – Friday
- Qualified to NEBOSH Certificate, Diploma level or international equivalent in relevant country
- Environmental qualification preferably IEMA or IOSH or international equivalent
- Experience of implementing, maintaining and improving ISO 14001 and ISO145001 (or country equivalent) management systems
- Able to demonstrate significant knowledge of EHS directives, systems & legal requirements
- Engineering qualification or proven background of contributing to safety improvements in an engineering/manufacturing environment
- Experience of implementing EHS systems and procedures including near miss, risk and ergonomic assessments, etc
- Experience of risk and change management i.e. devising EHS new systems, advising on contractor management for equipment transfers etc
- Computer literate, proficient in MS Office and EHS management systems (Gensuite would be an advantage)
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of Lean or other problem-solving tools and techniques (A3s).
