Responsibilities
- Carry out tool preparation (clean and apply release agent).
- Kit and lay‑up operations: cutting kit of materials for build sequence, warp and weft, layup material onto mould surface with correct orientation and build sequence.
- Vacuum bagging techniques (manufacture breather bag material kit).
- Cure operations to agreed engineering methods and processes using various plant and process equipment (autoclaves, ovens and vacuum pumps).
- Support and conform to quality procedures to maintain compliance, by ensuring adherence to the defined processes and procedures.
- Operate within all Parker Meggitt and Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
- Attend shift meetings with the team to understand the team’s targets, any key issues or problems and other communications (e.g., visits, health & safety issues).
- Detect and escalate any issues to team leaders in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a composites laminator position.
- Understanding of shelf life of materials would be an advantage.
- Experience within aerospace or other high‑technology industry would be an asset.
- Focused, committed with ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Capable of driving projects through to completion.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy including competence in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Creative with ability to think outside the box – excellent problem‑solving skills.
