Overview
Here at Parker Meggitt, we’re recruiting for a Commercial Lead to join the Aftermarket Contracts Team. In this role, reporting to the SSO Regional Contracts Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of contract management and proposals for all of Parker’s commercial aerospace aftermarket business in the EMEA region. You will also take a leading role in the proposal and Request For Approval (RFA) process for new contracts or contract changes, and will be responsible for all related contractual inputs. You’ll minimise risk and add value to RFAs and proposals, ensure policies and procedures are followed, maintain engagement with all stakeholders and meet customer deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Manages existing contracts; determines our levels of compliance with existing contracts, identifies key contract risks and takes appropriate action
- Leads and/or plays a key supporting role in the proposal and request for approval (RFA) processes for new contracts, contract amendments or renewals and is responsible for all contractual aspects of the RFA and proposal
- Investigates and resolves claims, complaints and disputes elevated for resolution
- Proficiently drafts and/or reviews contract language and contract amendments
- Ensures Parker’s compliance with all applicable laws, codes of conduct, export compliance regulations, aerospace industry regulations and any other applicable legislation; making timely recommendations to implement needed actions
- Serves as a functional expert; provides leadership to other departments or to ad-hoc teams, including suggests and helps implement process improvements
- Leads and/or supports complex negotiation with the customers
- Participates in project teams to achieve any assigned business objectives, acting as the subject matter expert for contracts and/or the aerospace aftermarket segment
Essential skills and experience
- Significant experience of contract management in the aerospace or related industry field
- Good level of knowledge of the commercial aerospace industry segment: structure, key players, requirements and trends
- Proficient contract drafting skills
- Excellent English written-word skills used in formal communications and records of all types
- Comprehensive knowledge of typical contract structure and language plus foundational contract law principles
- Effective and proven negotiation skills
- Good financial acumen; ability to understand, review and interpret complex pricing models and business cases and understand the linkage between profit, risk and terms & conditions
- Knowledge of complex legal and regulatory requirements related to contract administration that may include international compliance and government procurement
