The role of the Project Manager is to continuously plan, monitor and deliver our internal project(s) from initiation through to completion. They engage our internal resources and leverage opportunities to ensure that the scope is delivered on time and aligned to our customers' requirements and objectives. They apply professional principles, practices, and techniques to lead project processes while controlling cost, performance and risk.
Responsibilities- Develop and lead an integrated project team to deliver a scope of work as set out in the business case through the gated Parker Meggitt programme lifecycle process.
- Ensure all requirements and associated acceptance criteria are captured, managed and tracked throughout the project.
- Achieve milestones and deliverables against the schedule and manage risks that prevent the project falling behind schedule.
- Operate cross functionally to find mutually beneficial positions between stakeholders and the project deliverables to drive the success of the project.
- Capture scope change requests and bring forward information to disposition requests with the wider programme team.
- Estimate cost phasing throughout the project to support budgeting and forecasting.
- Monitor the current non-recurring costs against the approved budget to identify and correct the reasons for any divergence.
- Manage the customer relationship and lead regular internal and external review meetings for the programme.
- Communicate project status using data driven metrics to the stakeholder community and highlight areas of attention at appropriate intervals.
- Motivate the project team to contribute towards best project management practices and share the success of good results.
- Strong background and experience in delivering projects is essential.
- Background in aerospace preferred, with an understanding of NPD programmes.
- Understanding of aerospace qualification requirements and standards beneficial.
- Detailed understanding of project management methodologies and reporting.
- Experience using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools preferred.
- Relevant project management training and qualifications preferred.
- Experience working in a matrix-based organisation is beneficial.
- Experience interfacing with external customers and suppliers is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
- Self-motivated with strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to develop clear and detailed plans with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Security clearance may be required depending on your role.
