The successful candidate will be able to independently operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and efficiently to perform a variety of functions, whilst also ensuring the upkeep of the machines and any malfunctions are appropriately reported. Within this role, you will have the opportunity to work on components which are already in production but also development projects. The CNC operative performs a range of routine operations under well‑defined instructions and in accordance with company policy and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide business support to an assigned functional area.
  • Demonstrate compliance with all safety and quality policies & procedures.
  • Follow working instructions and read/interpret drawings and work to aerospace tolerances.
  • Operate within all Parker‑Meggitt and Health and Safety at work Regulations.
  • Attendance of start of shift meeting with team to understand the teams targets, any key issues / problems and any other communications (e.g. visits, health & safety issues etc).
  • Detect and escalate any issues to team leader in timely manner.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • CNC Machine setting and operation, establishing independence through correct training.
  • Experience with Breton 5-axis gantry machine tools would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Siemens 840D SL controls would be advantageous.
  • Experience with the use of MSP for setting and measurement of parts.
  • Knowledge with machining Composite material would be advantageous.
  • Experience with hand and air driven tools would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Experience with crane usage would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Basic understanding of G‑Code would be advantageous, but not essential.
