We are seeking an industrial placement student to support the development and integration of mechanical methods and tools. The successful candidate should be studying mechanical engineering and have an interest in, and some experience with, software development / coding.
Responsibilities
- Work with the engineering team to analyse and interpret mechanical engineering calculations, specifications, and requirements
- Assist in the development of tools to automate these mechanical calculations
- Test and debug the tools to ensure they meet project specifications
- Collaborate with team members to monitor and maintain the usage of the tools, making improvements and updates as needed
- Learn and apply engineering design principles and standards
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to the project.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Interest in, and ideally some coursework or experience in programming languages such as Visual Basic / VBA / C#
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
