Role: Office and Departmental Assistant

Office: Witney

Due to the continual expansion in Witney, we are now recruiting for an Assistant to provide support with the overall administration of the office and to act as back up secretarial support to individual departments as required.

This role could, as we grow further, develop into being an Assistant to the Family, Property or Private Client departments and so experience in any of these areas would be desirable, as well as the essential general administration and typing skills required.

The role

The role will include support to current office administration and legal work including:

  • Dealing with new client enquiries for various departments, making appointments, setting up files and dealing with initial matters / ID checks;
  • Managing existing client calls and ensuring, in liaison with the legal advisors, that they receive a consistent and excellent level of service;
  • Supporting in the general office administration including post, office supplies ordering and all office needs as required; and
  • Audio typing for all departments as required.

The candidate

The following experience is essential:

  • Good organisational skills and being able to manage and prioritise a varied workload;
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues both over the telephone and by email;
  • An understanding of the running and administration of a legal office;
  • Flexibility to provide support to the office overall and to individual departments as required;
  • Audio typing: and
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A background in Family, Property and Private Client secretarial support would be desirable.
