We’re recruiting for a Payroll Specialist to deliver an accurate and compliant in‑house monthly payroll for the business ensuring all elements relating to employees and employer are processed and calculated correctly in a timely and complete fashion. The post‑holder will work on all aspects of payroll, including administration of the Parker Employee Stock Purchase Plan, input and maintenance of Masterfile data and of variable data input to the payroll system, as well as providing guidance and advice on tax‑related queries and ensuring payroll processes meet senior accounting officer legislation and SOX requirements. You will be required to work from Ansty Park 4 days each week, and due to the occasional need to travel to our Hemel Hempstead sites for training, you must be a car driver.

Your responsibilities

  • Accurate delivery of all payrolls within area of accountability to tight deadlines. (Headcount currently circa 2,100)
  • Ensure delivery of a high quality, customer focused service to the wider business in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements
  • Ensure that appropriate controls are adhered to in accordance with SOX and Audit requirements
  • Oversee the receipt and processing of day‑to‑day enquiries sent to the Payroll Enquiries email inbox, liaising with other colleagues in HR to resolve
  • Undertake payroll processes to ensure accurate inputting of overtime, on call, unpaid sickness, allowances, attachment of earnings, SMP and SPP etc
  • Production of financial reports for Finance teams to enable posting of payroll costs to GL
  • Maintenance of employee self‑service accounts for e‑payslips and password reset requests
  • Processing of termination payments.
  • Year‑end process and production of P60’s
  • Liaising with internal teams: Benefits in relation to company cars and PMI and Global Reward in relation to the annual bonus cycle and APR

Who we’re looking for

  • Minimum of 5 years’ payroll experience with solid knowledge of Payroll and UK HR legislation
  • Good decision‑making skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Thorough and meticulous with extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues and identify process improvements
  • Excellent communication skills responding to queries from both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience maintaining data with a high level of data accuracy
  • Experience working with payroll software packages. Dayforce experience preferable
  • Experience working with Time & Attendance software packages – UKG Dimensions knowledge useful
