Our client, a well‑established and growing accountancy firm, is seeking a full or part time senior Payroller to join their growing business in Oxfordshire. Reporting into the Partners, the key responsibilities include:
- Payroll Processing & Review: Prepare, process, and review payrolls for all assigned clients, ensuring accuracy of pay, deductions, statutory payments, and RTI submissions. Oversee and quality‑check payrolls completed by team members.
- Pension Administration: Manage workplace pension schemes, including enrolments, re‑enrolment, contributions, and provider submissions. Monitor and maintain compliance with pension legislation and deadlines by assisting our designated auto enrolment team with the data required for declarations of compliance. Reconcile client payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies. Ensure correct payment of PAYE, NIC, pension contributions, and other statutory deductions.
- Client Support & Query Resolution: Act as a main point of contact for client payroll queries, providing prompt and accurate guidance. Build strong client relationships and ensure high service standards.
- Compliance & Deadlines Management: Track payroll and pension deadlines to ensure timely submissions and avoid penalties. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of payroll legislation and best practice by attending webinars and ongoing CPD. Supervise two payroll assistants, assisting with training, guidance, and workload oversight. Support performance development and promote continuous improvement within the team.
Candidates that apply must have previous Payroll experience at a senior or supervisory level. A relevant payroll or accounting qualification is desirable, along with full UK working rights. Attention to detail is key, as well as the ability to liaise with both internal staff as well as external customers. In return, our client offers a salary of £35,000 to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience), and can offer flexible hybrid working arrangements – 2 days a week in the office, and enhanced benefits. Also flexibility on working hours, to a minimum of 3 days.
