The Role:
As Management Accountant, you will sit at the heart of the finance function, producing the monthly management accounts and financial insight that drive real business decisions. You will own overhead analysis, journals, accruals and prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and variance reporting — delivering accurate, timely numbers that operational and senior teams rely on.
Day to day, you will:
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis and overhead trend commentary
- Support the annual budgeting and rolling forecast cycles, including budget amendments
- Post journals and manage accruals/prepayments using Oracle (or a comparable ERP system)
- Liaise with shared services teams on AP and cash queries
- Produce ad hoc financial reports and proactively recommend process improvements
This role has genuine progression built into it. In the short term, you will establish yourself as a trusted reporter of accurate monthly figures. Over time, you will take ownership of forecasting cycles, develop commercial partnering skills and work across a diverse UK project portfolio. The organisation actively supports professional study (AAT/CIMA/ACCA) and offers a structured pathway through management accounting grades.
What You Will Bring:
- AAT, CIMA or ACCA studier (any level considered)
- 2–3 years' management accounting experience
- Experience with Oracle or a similar financial system
- Part-qualified accountant status
