This role is a key part of Parkdean’s Information & Cyber Security structure, residing within the Vulnerability Management team. This role will work on a breadth of vulnerability management and risk reduction programs. This role will be responsible for managing the daily security tools, working on projects to reduce risks, testing and migration planning and being a key figure within the security team.

What you will be doing

  • Monitor and manage the security tools on a day-to-day basis, ensuring alerts are investigated and resolved.
  • Be the first point of contact for technical security tickets raised within the ticketing tool.
  • Conduct configuration and rule reviews of the security tools, security products and/or broader business products to ensure security is adequately applied.
  • Be responsible for working with external testing partners and internal testing tools to manage findings and track them through to rectification.
  • Responsible for identifying emerging cyber threats and technically support the business to reduce potential impacts.
  • Conducting internal security assessments on, but not limited to infrastructure, perimeter security, cloud infrastructure and build images.
  • Lead on projects to decrease technical risk.
  • Lead on Cyber risk reduction projects and work stream.
  • Support and/or lead on information and cyber security investigation, incidents and/or near misses.
  • Be a technical security advisor for the security department.
  • Conduct external open-source threat intelligence research.
  • Support and lead on driving maturity into our vulnerability management practices and processes.

About you

  • At least 2 years of experience working within Cyber Security vulnerability management or a technical IT function such as infrastructure or 3rd line support with a personal interest in cyber security.
  • Experience or knowledge within ethical hacking, MITRE ATT&CK and Threat Hunting / Threat Intelligence techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience of using a range of security products covering, but not limited to EDR/XDR, firewalls/WAFs, Network Security Monitoring, SIEM’s and Vulnerability Scanning tools.
  • Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent Cyber Security.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and analytical approach.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
