The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 Β£ per year.

To undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision ofgeneral support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to,greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, bookingappointments, processing of information and assisting patients asrequired. To act as the central point ofcontact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiriesfor the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members andexternal agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

Main duties of the job

Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels:

  • Maintainingand monitoring the practice appointment system
  • Processpersonal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
  • Answerincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestappropriately
  • Signpostpatients to the correct service
  • Initiatingcontact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members andexternal agencies
  • Readcode data on EMIS
  • Photocopydocumentation as required
  • Inputdata into the patients healthcare records as necessary
  • Manageall queries as necessary in an efficient manner
  • Carryout system searches as requested
  • Maintaina clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
  • Monitorand maintain the reception area and notice boards
  • Supportall clinical staff with general tasks as requested

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the receptionist may be requested to:

  • Completeopening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota

Parkbury House surgery is a large and friendly, GP Surgerybased in the centre of St Albans, with a branch surgery in Sandridge. We are ateaching / training practice of over 22,500 patients and deliver a high qualityof care to our patients.

We are an 8 GP Partner led practice with amulti-disciplinary team consisting of GPs, Frailty Nurses, Practice Nurses,HCAs, Clinical Pharmacists and allied health professionals who are allsupported by a large team of hard-working administrative staff.

All staff are very supportive in providing a good servicefor our patients. We received a GOOD from our last CQC inspection.
