Our client, a well-established and growing business near Reading, is seeking a proactive and relationship-focused Distribution Manager to support and grow their international distributor network within the microbiology sector.
In this key role, you’ll be responsible for nurturing long-term relationships with partners and distributors worldwide, ensuring they are fully supported and aligned with the company’s values, goals and high standards. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a background in microbiology and a talent for building trust-based partnerships in a technical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and support existing distributor accounts, acting as the main point of contact for relationship and performance management
- Develop strong, collaborative relationships with key international stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to grow business through existing channels and by strengthening distributor capabilities
- Provide product support and training where needed, helping partners to succeed in their local markets
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., technical, marketing, and operations) to ensure distributors are well-equipped and aligned with strategic goals
- Represent the company at international trade shows and industry events
- Travel internationally to maintain close relationships with partners and understand local market dynamics
- Previous experience in account management, distributor management, or partner development—particularly in a technical or scientific field
- Background or strong interest in microbiology or related life sciences
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage a diverse international client base
- Strong commercial awareness and a collaborative approach to achieving mutual goals
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
