Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm, Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm all year round
Salary: Grade 8 Scale point 27 - 31, £38,220 - £41,771
This is a key position providing management accounting and business partnering support to multiple schools. You'll work closely with Headteachers and senior leaders to ensure robust financial planning, informed decision‑making, and strong financial control across the Trust. You will also support the Finance Director with reporting, projects, and statutory financial requirements, playing an integral role in the Trust's financial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and review budgets, forecasts, and management accounts across a portfolio of schools
- Partner with Headteachers and budget holders to support financial decision‑making
- Deliver clear, insightful financial reports to non‑finance stakeholders
- Support annual financial planning and ensure accurate financial records
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and assist with year‑end processes
- Contribute to internal audit work, controls, and policy updates
- Assist with onboarding new schools into the Trust
- Support procurement activities, contracts, and tenders to ensure value for money
- Help with central finance function tasks including financial analysis, audit preparation and statutory returns
About You
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and organisational skills.
Essential
- Part‑qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW/CIPFA) or qualified by experience
- Strong background in management accounting, including budgeting and forecasting
- Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and year‑end processes
- Ability to interpret complex data and provide strategic insight
- Confident communicator with the ability to work with non‑finance stakeholders
- Highly organised, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Willingness to travel between school sites
Desirable
- Experience within a Multi‑Academy Trust or education sector
- Familiarity with systems such as PS Financials or IMP Planner
- Evidence of continued professional development in education finance
