The Pre-Sales Engineer I focuses on answering technical questions as they arise from sales, while partnering with first-year sales associates to consult with prospects and customers regarding after warranty data center maintenance & network optimization. The Pre-Sales Engineer I designs & architects technical solutions to meet evolving customer needs. Assists the sales team on subject matters such as storage, server, networking, as well as professional and Parkview Managed Services. Provides ongoing technical sales training to the sales team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Track and answer incoming technical questions from the sales force to identify the proper solutions and identify support caveats.
- Participate on discovery and technical conference calls with first-year sales associates serving as the technical resource on hardware & software architecture, network architecture, and our managed service offerings.
- Develop and enhance your technical expertise, sales ability, account management skills, and exceptional customer focus.
- Create & deliver technical product & support presentations for external partners and customers.
- Present capability assessments and validations as it applies to the technical sales process.
- Pursue business development opportunities to align with company’s global business objectives and profit margin goals.
- Provide coaching and professional development to first-year sales associates to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, & best practices.
- Monitor technical solutions proposed throughout the sales process and alert the account teams to potential risks of deal closure.
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of three (3) years of successful technical sales and/or pre-sales experience.
- Basic knowledge of data center topology, hardware and software.
- Experience with selling server and enterprise storage and/or hardware maintenance solutions.
- Experience with selling Data Center Technologies or in running Data Centers.
- Knowledge of legacy hardware technologies a plus.
- Experience with sales training a plus.
- Evidence of strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Fluent Italian.

- Industry Certifications in Virtualization, Cloud, Networking, or Security.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Will take experience into consideration.
