Bolivar Creek Retirement Residence is looking for an overnight Housekeeper and Security to join our team. The Housekeeper will clean, sanitize, and maintain common areas of the retirement home and commercial side of the building.
As this is an overnight shift (11:00PM - 7:00AM), this role also entails monitoring CCTV cameras ensuring security overnight. Will also serve as an emergency responder during the shift, assessing any incidents involving residents and contacting 911 when necessary.
The ideal person for this position has experience, enjoys working both individually and as a team, is well-spoken, energetic, and personable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Clean – Perform general cleaning and sanitizing tasks throughout the assigned property.
- Vacuum, wet mop, and dry mop floors.
- Clean and disinfect elevators, bathrooms and dining areas.
- Wipe and dust surfaces in common areas and clean mirrors.
- Vacuum and clean floors, rugs and furniture.
- Pick up and empty trash containers.
- Check and restock housekeeping supplies. Report to supervisor when supplies are low or when any equipment needs repair.
- Security – Overnight security which entails monitoring of CCTV camera.
- Identify and report risks ensuring the safety of residents, visitors, and employees.
- Call emergency or non-emergency police, depending on the situation, particularly when individuals without shelter are loitering around the premises.
- Emergency Responder – Emergency responder to resident incidents, such as in the event of a resident's fall, assessing the situation and calling 911 if necessary.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- No issues in working alone overnight.
- Detail-oriented, confidential, and professional.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Knows how to use a computer.
- Strong organizational skills as well as the ability to stay focused.
- Reliable with attendance, working with all scheduled shifts in their entirety.
- Clear criminal record security clearance with Vulnerable Sector included (no more than 6 months old).
- Must be able to work independently, and as part of the interdisciplinary team.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and reach, bend, lift and pull.
- Chemical cleaning exposure.
- Since this is an overnight shift, sleeping during work hours will be considered time theft and may result in disciplinary action.
