Duties and responsibilities related to the Business Development Manager Groups & Events role:
- Drive the strategic commercial direction of Park Hyatt London River Thames, ensuring the smooth and efficient performance of the Rooms & Events department.
- Accountable for delivering an exceptional end-to-end group and event experience, while achieving departmental profitability and all relevant annual hotel KPI targets.
- Drive strategic business development across MICE and transient segments by proactively identifying, pursuing, and converting new revenue opportunities to achieve annual KPI and profitability targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, agencies, and partners to generate repeat, referral, and long-term business across Rooms and Food & Beverage.
- Execute structured sales activities including prospecting, client meetings, contracting, rate negotiations, site inspections, trade shows, and FAM trips to maximise conversion and market penetration.
- Monitor market trends, competitor performance, and pricing strategies to identify new revenue streams, strengthen account penetration (in collaboration with the UK Area team and Hyatt Sales Force), and enhance overall sales strategy.
- Ensure operational excellence through accurate system management in Envision, seamless internal communication, and regular reporting, forecasting, and pipeline analysis to support strategic decision-making.
About You:
- Proven experience in a sales management role within the premium hospitality segment, ideally within a luxury hotel environment.
- Strong commercial mindset and a demonstrated ability to drive revenue across both MICE and transient segments.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, confidently engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Strategic yet hands-on, proactively identifying opportunities, analysing market trends, and implementing initiatives that contribute to revenue growth and departmental profitability.
- Professional, adaptable, and guest-focused, excelling at building long-term business relationships while aligning actions with broader hotel objectives and the luxury standards of Park Hyatt London River Thames.
