What will I be doing?

As the Health and Safety Manager with Brend Hotels, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our guests. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Audit / Monitor Kitchens to ensure Food Safety standards are being met.
  • Managing the Health and Safety function across 2 hotels, head office and our staff accommodation houses in North Devon
  • Report on general Health and Safety on site.
  • Record, assess and investigate all accident and first aid reports within your sites.
  • Work closely with Hotel Managers to make sure safe practices are used.
  • Make sure Fire Safety standards are met and maintained, including all fire equipment.
  • Pro-actively work to improve standards.
  • Carry out Risk Assessments on equipment and individuals where required.
  • Manage contractors' procedures on site.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

To successfully fill this role as the Health and Safety Manager at 2 of our sites within our hotel group, as well as our head office and staff accommodation buildings, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Ideally, applicants should have previous experience in a similar establishment and hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Previous experience is essential (preferably in a similar setting), ideally, you will also hold a recognised Health and Safety qualification
