We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading our team and ensuring the highest standards of clinical care and service delivery.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the home, supporting the Registered Manager in maintaining regulatory compliance, driving quality improvements, and leading the clinical and care teams. You will act as a role model for best practice and help create a positive culture focused on delivering outstanding resident outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the operational and clinical management of the home.
- Lead and supervise nursing and care teams to ensure high-quality, person-centred care.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with CQC regulations and organisational policies.
- Assist with audits, quality assurance processes, and action plans.
- Support staff recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and performance management.
- Ensure effective care planning, risk assessments, and clinical governance processes are in place.
- Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and infection prevention standards.
- Act as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the Registered Manager.
- Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
Essential Requirements
- Valid NMC Pin (Registered Nurse)
- Previous experience in a senior nursing role, Clinical Lead, Unit Manager, or Deputy Manager position within a care home setting.
- Strong understanding of CQC standards, clinical governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to motivate, support, and develop teams.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding resident-focused care.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Leadership and management qualification or willingness to undertake further professional development.
- Experience supporting CQC inspections and quality improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of elderly care, nursing care, dementia care, and complex care needs.
