Job Summary

This is a new Senior Management role within our People Team and will be critical in driving employee engagement and career growth through the design and implementation of our learning development and engagement practices. We are looking for a candidate with a strategic and proactive mindset, a passion for employee learning and development, and the ability to engage team members. Reporting to the Head of Reward and Engagement, this is a pivotal role in championing the development and engagement of our team members. You will have line management responsibility for our L&D Project Coordinator and our Benefits Coordinator.

Job Duties

  • Planning
    • Develop the Engagement and Development Strategy and Plan in partnership with the Chief People Officer and wider People Team, ensuring alignment with the current and future needs of the business.
  • Learning and Development
    • Identify learning and development needs by partnering with the Senior People Partner and field-based L&D Specialists to assess organisational skills gaps and recommend appropriate development solutions.
    • Own and continuously enhance the company’s learning and development materials, including management of the relationship with the digital learning solutions provider.
    • Design and deliver training and professional development programmes, while supporting leadership development, mentoring, and succession planning initiatives.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify compliance and mandatory training requirements, ensuring the effective development, implementation, monitoring, and completion of all required training programmes across the organisation.
    • Oversee the accreditation process for the in-house delivery of relevant programmes and ensure all ongoing accreditation requirements are maintained.
    • Lead the rollout and ongoing maintenance of the company-wide induction programme, including all associated materials and content.
  • Engagement
    • Act as the internal champion for Investors in People (IIP), ensuring the organisation continues to uphold the highest standards of accreditation.
    • Liaise with the parent company regarding ESG activities, ensuring accurate collection and collation of data from internal teams for reporting purposes.
    • Support the Benefits Coordinator in ensuring the employee benefits offering remains innovative, competitive, and well understood and valued by employees.
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive employee engagement strategy, utilising the employee survey platform and other relevant engagement tools.
    • Support the Head of Reward and Engagement with ad hoc Reward and Engagement projects as required.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including key operational, Head Office, and third-party provider contacts.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of driving employee performance and engagement, likely gained within an L&D function.
  • Able to analyse and interpret data to gain insights that drive engagement, performance and development.
  • Knowledge of Reward and an understanding of employee benefits provision.
  • A strategic mindset and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Line Management experience and a passion for developing team members.
