Job Summary
The People Team Business Manager position ensures the People Team function runs efficiently day to day, priorities are clear, and initiatives move forward with discipline and pace. It is a highly operational, handsâon role that combines strategic execution with direct executive assistant support to the CPO. Serving as both a trusted advisor and the primary operator of the CPO's office, the role requires exceptional organisation, judgment, and followâthrough, along with the ability to flex seamlessly between administrative execution and strategic problemâsolving. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, trusted, discreet, and comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels.
Job Duties
- Drive dayâtoâday operational effectiveness of the People Team function, ensuring priorities, deadlines, and deliverables are met.
- Support the People Leadership Team's day to day operations, including meeting schedules, agendas, materials, and action tracking.
- Oversee the People Team budget spend working in partnership with finance and the People Team leads.
- Provide direct, comprehensive executive assistant support to the CPO.
- Prepare agendas, presentations, briefing materials, and talking points for a range of internal and external meetings.
- Support preparation for board and executive committee updates related to people strategy.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all matters.
- Track progress on plan goals and proactively identify risks or gaps.
- Oversee coordination of People metrics, dashboards, and reporting to ensure dataâdriven insights.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in HR, consulting, strategy, operations, or a Business Manager role.
- Strong understanding of HR functions and people strategy.
- Proven experience working with senior executives and leadership teams ideally supporting a Câsuite executive.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
- Familiarity with workforce analytics, change management, and organisational design.
- CIPD qualification would be desirable.
- High emotional intelligence and discretion.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration.
- Resultsâoriented, proactive, and detailâdriven approach.
