The Role
As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will take full ownership of the company’s global technology strategy and execution. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for driving innovation, scalability, and reliability across all trading systems, ensuring the platform continues to perform at the highest possible level in one of the most competitive markets in the world. This is a senior leadership role suited to a technologist who thrives in complex, high-performance environments and can lead large, distributed engineering teams to deliver cutting-edge trading solutions. The role can be based remotely from Singapore / Kuala Lumpur / Hong Kong / UAE / Europe (Order of preference).
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the company’s global technology roadmap, aligning with strategic business goals and regulatory standards.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a world-class engineering organisation of 500+ professionals across multiple regions.
- Oversee all aspects of trading system architecture, including low-latency matching engines, market connectivity, and risk management systems.
- Drive innovation in high frequency trading infrastructure, ensuring best-in-class performance and uptime.
- Implement scalable processes and modern engineering practices to support hypergrowth and institutional adoption.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Risk, and Operations leadership to ensure seamless technology delivery.
- Represent the technology function at executive and board level, translating complex technical topics into strategic insights.
Requirements
- Proven experience as CTO, VP Engineering, or equivalent leadership role within a high frequency trading, crypto exchange, or quantitative trading firm.
- Exceptional understanding of low-latency trading systems, market data infrastructure, and distributed systems.
- Demonstrated success leading and scaling large engineering teams (500+ headcount) across multiple locations.
- Experience balancing technical excellence with commercial strategy in a fast-moving, regulated environment.
- Strategic, data-driven thinker with a strong grasp of emerging technologies and blockchain innovation.
- Mandarin language skills are advantageous but not essential.
