Local Authority in the Midlands, covering a diverse mix of rural and urban areas, is looking for an experienced Development Management Team Leader to provide hands-on leadership within its busy Development Management team.

Key details:

  • Contract: Until March 2028 - an exceptionally long-term opportunity
  • Rate: Up to £65 per hour
  • Start: Last week in July, although they're happy to wait for the right person
  • Hybrid: Just 1 day per week on site

The role will involve:

  • Leading and supporting a Development Management team of 11 officers
  • Managing a small caseload alongside leadership responsibilities
  • Supporting officers with complex applications and high workloads

  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing staff to strengthen technical knowledge and confidence
