You'll play a key role in ensuring residents have access to safe, healthy and well-managed homes.
Working as part of a supportive team, you'll help deliver a responsive housnig service at a busy time following the introduction of the Renters' Rights Act.
Key Responsibilities
Investigate housing complaints and carry out HHSRS inspections.
Enforce housing legislation through informal and formal action.
Inspect private rented properties for compliance with housing standards.
Advise tenants, landlords, and other stakeholders.
Prepare enforcement notices and maintain accurate case records.
Support HMO licensing and regulatory compliance.
Work with partners to improve housing conditions and protect residents.
About you
The ideal candidate will bring
Experience in Private Sector Housing, Environmental Health, and working in Local Government.
Sound knowledge of housing legislation and the HHSRS.
Practical experience in carrying out inspections for both disrepair and property licensing Experience in report writing and enforcement of Housing Act 2004.
Able to build effective relationships with tenants, landlords, and partners.
Well-organised, with the ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines.
