We're supporting a Warwickshire Local Authority who are looking for an experienced Housing Options Officer to help slot in to a particularly busy period within their team. The team covers a mix of rural villages and market towns, so the cases are varied and often complex, with a big focus on early prevention and sustainable outcomes. This is a hybrid position with just 2 days a week onsite, paying £28-£30 per hour depending on experience.

What the role involves:

  • Speaking with residents face-to-face and over the phone to complete homelessness assessments and triage
  • Making clear, confident Section 184 decisions in line with current legislation
  • Putting together realistic, tailored PHPs that reflect the challenges of Warwickshire's housing market
  • Exploring and securing private rented sector options, negotiating effectively with landlords and agents
  • Collaborating with colleagues in Temporary Accommodation, Allocations, and Prevention to keep cases moving
  • Keeping organised, detailed case notes that are ready for audit at any time

  • £28-£30 per hour (umbrella)
  • Initial 3-month contract, with a strong chance of extension
  • Hybrid - 2 days onsite in Warwickshire
