I'm currently working with Warwick District Council to recruit an experienced Planning Policy & Major Sites Delivery Manager for an initial 12-month contract, with the potential for extension.
The Opportunity:
This is an excellent opportunity to lead the Council's Planning Policy & Major Sites Delivery team, playing a key role in delivering the Council's ambitious growth agenda and ensuring high-quality, infrastructure-led development across strategic sites.
The successful candidate will lead the delivery of the Local Development Scheme (LDS) and oversee the progression of the Council's Local Plan through to submission and Examination in Public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Planning Policy & Major Sites Delivery team.
- Take overall responsibility for the Council's Local Plan, including post-Regulation 19 consultation work, submission, and Examination in Public.
- Lead the delivery of planning policy, major sites delivery, development monitoring, and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) functions.
- Line manage members of the Planning Policy team while providing leadership across the wider service.
- Support the delivery of strategic growth and high-quality development across the district.
About You:
- A strong background in planning policy and Local Plan preparation.
- Previous management and leadership experience.
- Experience leading complex planning projects through examination processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Flexible office attendance, although you'll be expected to attend key meetings in person, including team, management and committee meetings, as well as undertake site visits across the district.
