I am currently partnering with a Norfolk-based Local Authority with an excellent reputation, who are looking for an experienced Planning Administrator to join their Planning team on an interim basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and supportive team, providing essential administrative support to the planning service. The authority offers fully remote working, flexible hours, and is open to both full-time and part-time applicants, making it ideal for experienced planning administrators seeking a flexible contract.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide administrative support across the Planning department, helping to ensure applications and planning records are processed accurately and efficiently. You'll play a key role in supporting planning officers and maintaining the smooth running of the service.

The Responsibilities

  • Process and administer planning applications from receipt through to determination.
  • Maintain and update planning records and databases.
  • Manage correspondence and enquiries from applicants, agents and members of the public.
  • Upload and maintain planning documents on the authority's systems.
  • Ensure planning information is recorded accurately and in line with statutory requirements.
  • Provide general administrative support across the Planning team.

Experience Needed

  • Previous experience working within a Local Authority Planning department.
  • Essential experience using both Idox and Uniform systems.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
