Role Overview
- Carry out independent Housing Reviews (s202) of homelessness and housing allocation decisions for the local authority.
- Conduct detailed investigations, gathering evidence and liaising with Housing Options, Legal Services, solicitors and partner agencies.
- Draft and issue clear, defensible review decision letters in line with statutory deadlines.
- Oversee temporary accommodation during the review process to ensure compliance, minimise risk and manage costs.
- Provide feedback to front line housing teams to improve decision‑making and reduce repeat reviews.
What We're Looking For
- At least 12 months experience as a Housing Reviews Officer within a local authority (within the last two years).
- Strong knowledge of Housing Act 1996, Part VII, s202, Review Regulations and homelessness case law.
- Experience supporting vulnerable households through complex reviews.
- Excellent written communication and strong organisational skills.
