We are working with a well established housing organisation in East London that is looking to appoint an experienced Building Surveyor on a 6 month contract. This is a hands on role within a busy Repairs and Property Services team, offering strong day rate and a varied workload.

The Role
- Manage all surveying activity across a defined patch
- Deal with complex repairs enquiries, correspondence and complaints
- Carry out property surveys and diagnose defects
- Prepare technical reports, specifications and scheme design drawings
- Supervise contractors and coordinate multiple trades
- Manage a delegated budget
- Oversee works from diagnosis through to completion and payment
- Scrutinise and approve variations and invoices
- Ensure works are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard
- Implement robust quality control including post inspections
- Obtain planning and building control approvals
- Undertake feasibility studies, option appraisals and budget estimates
- Act as lead officer for aids and adaptations
- Provide technical advice to repairs, compliance and asset teams
- Represent the organisation at meetings and act as expert witness if required
