The Role
As an HMO Licensing Officer, you'll play a key role in delivering the council's HMO Licensing service, ensuring licence applications are processed efficiently and in line with current legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process HMO Licensing applications, renewals and variations
- Validate licence applications and supporting documentation
- Maintain accurate licensing records and housing databases
- Respond to enquiries from landlords, managing agents and tenants
- Support Private Sector Housing and Housing Standards teams with licensing administration
- Assist with compliance monitoring and case management
Essential Experience
- Previous experience as an HMO Licensing Officer, Licensing Administrator or within a Private Sector Housing team
- Strong knowledge of HMO Licensing legislation and licensing processes
- Experience working within a Local Authority
- Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience using housing or licensing management systems is desirable
