Park Avenue are working in partnership with a Local Authority client in Hampshire to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor to support the management and enhancement of a residential portfolio of circa 3,000 homes. This is a key technical role within the property team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of surveying activities, contract oversight, and asset improvement initiatives across a diverse housing stock.

The Role

You will play a central part in maintaining and improving property standards, delivering both planned and reactive works while ensuring value for money and regulatory compliance. Core duties include:

  • Undertaking detailed property inspections and condition surveys
  • Supporting asset management strategies and investment planning
  • Administering building contracts, including contractor management and performance monitoring
  • Leading refurbishment and improvement projects from inception through to completion
  • Managing budgets and ensuring effective cost control
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring within the team

About You

To be considered, you will:

  • Hold a degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent qualification)
  • Have strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
  • Demonstrate experience in housing or public sector property portfolios
  • Be confident managing contractors and overseeing project delivery
  • Have proven experience controlling budgets and delivering value
  • Possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
