Park Avenue are pleased to be working with a Local Authority in Essex who require an Interim Head of Compliance. This is an initial 6 month contract (likely to be extended past this point).

Your role will cover the following:

  • Gas & Electrics
  • Damp
  • Fire Safety
  • Legionella
  • Asbestos

You are responsible for 1600 homes that have recently been brought back in-house. You will manage 2-3 Compliance officers who are self-sufficient and do not require too much hand-holding!

The Council are in regular contact with the Regulator, and you are required to attend meetings fortnightly. The main priority in the role is writing a Compliance Strategy on how to improve the service the Council provides, working closely with the Reactive Repairs and Planned Works teams.

The Housing Programme Director is expecting you to come with fresh and innovative ideas on how to progress and deliver the service, utilising what resources you have. The Council works on a hybrid basis, with you being in the office/on-site twice a week.

Experience in the public sector is required due to the political sensitivity of the role.
