A local authority in Essex is looking to appoint a number of experienced Temporary Accommodation Officers to join their Move On team on a contract basis for an initial 3 months. This role would suit someone confident working directly with households in temporary accommodation, supporting move-on pathways and ensuring cases are progressed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the first point of contact for households in temporary accommodation, building trust and managing expectations
- Carrying out home visits to complete occupancy, identity and affordability checks
- Updating housing needs assessments and identifying appropriate move-on routes into settled accommodation
- Verifying household composition, including adult dependents for housing register eligibility
- Updating housing register applications to reflect changes in circumstances
- Working closely with the Move On team to support property matching and successful housing outcomes
