I'm delighted to be supporting a Local Authority in the Thames Estuary in recruiting a Principal Planner on a full-time, 6 month temporary basis. Please note you will be required to be on site 2 days per week. As the largest economy in the Thames Estuary outside London, they are forward thinking and are driving inclusive, sustainable growth to provide opportunity and prosperity for local people and businesses, access to quality homes, vibrant town centres and an enhanced local environment.
The Role: You will join the council’s planning team, working with friendly and supportive colleagues and will be involved in a wide variety of planning work relating to the future growth of our borough with a particular emphasis on dealing with major and strategic planning applications. Decisiveness and ambition for our borough are key qualities in this role so that you discharge our important statutory functions, play a key role in advising on and facilitating effective service delivery. A keen collaborator and team player, you may also have the opportunity to work across the planning function of the Council including the planning policy and enforcement teams. As a strong communicator, verbal and written, you will undertake all areas of planning for the local authority, including attending developer meetings and planning committees.
The experience you will bring:
- Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute
- Knowledge and understanding of planning legislation and regulations
- Previous experience of managing major planning
Contract Details:
- Working Pattern: 37 hours per week (hybrid working, 2 days on site)
- Pay Rate: £50.00 - £55.00 p/h
- Contract Length: 6 month contract, very likely to be extended
