Position Summary
A Surrey-based local authority, located just 40 minutes from London, is seeking an experienced Housing Adviser to join its Homelessness Service. This 6-month initial contract offers £26-£30 per hour, with potential extension and an ASAP start.
Responsibilities
- Conduct homelessness triage and initial assessments.
- Provide housing advice and prevention support.
- Assess applications under the Homelessness Reduction Act.
- Create and update Personal Housing Plans.
- Signpost clients to relevant services.
- Maintain accurate case records on Jigsaw.
Qualifications
- Previous experience within a Housing Options, Housing Advice or Homelessness Prevention team.
- Solid understanding of homelessness legislation.
- Experience using Jigsaw highly desirable.
Working Arrangement
Hybrid working is offered. Candidates able to attend the office more frequently may be viewed more favourably during selection.
