We are currently recruiting for an experienced Damp, Mould & Condensation (DMC) Surveyor to join a local authority housing team in Hertfordshire on an initial 6-month contract. This role will focus on diagnosing damp, mould and condensation issues across residential properties, managing remedial works, and supporting a proactive approach to property maintenance and resident safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily property inspections and surveys relating to damp, mould, and condensation
- Diagnose building defects and identify appropriate remedial solutions
- Produce drawings, floor plans, and specifications for improvement works
- Raise and manage works orders using appropriate systems and procurement procedures
- Supervise contractors on site and ensure works are completed to required standards
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and statutory requirements
- Support proactive block surveys and wider preventative maintenance initiatives
- Assist with service improvement and transformation projects across the DMC service
Requirements
- Proven experience carrying out damp, mould, and condensation surveys within housing
- Strong knowledge of building pathology and property maintenance
- Experience managing contractors and supervising works on site
- Understanding of health & safety and housing compliance standards
- Strong communication, reporting, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and work independently
