I'm currently working with a London-based Housing Association that is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to support their reactive repairs service on an interim basis.
This is a great opportunity for a hands-on contracts professional who enjoys being out on site, challenging contractors, and ensuring residents receive a high-quality repairs service.
The organisation operates a fully outsourced repairs model with no DLO in place. You'll be responsible for managing contractor performance, with a strong emphasis on post-inspections of completed reactive works.
The main contractor is Axis Europe, supported by a small number of medium-sized contractors. The role is inspection-led and requires regular travel across London.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out post-inspections on reactive repairs works
- Monitoring contractor quality, performance, and compliance
- Ensuring works meet agreed specifications, KPIs, and housing standards
- Identifying defects and driving timely remedial action
- Challenging poor workmanship and holding contractors to account
- Working closely with internal teams to support service delivery
What They’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within social housing repairs
- Strong background in reactive repairs and outsourced delivery models
- Comfortable spending time on site - around one day per week minimum, with flexibility required
- Confident dealing with large contractors and managing performance
- London-based or able to travel easily across the region
