Parity Group are delighted to partner with our client, a prestigious public sector organisation, who are looking to recruit an experienced Technical Lead with strong AWS and TypeScript expertise to lead a cross-functional agile development team. You will provide hands-on engineering leadership, guide architectural decisions, and act as a key link between development teams and the Architecture Steering Group helping define and refine best practices, standards, and architectural principles. Supporting long-term digital sustainability and service resilience.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead feature development and platform refactoring using AWS serverless tools (Lambda, CDK, API Gateway).
- Design and document public APIs and Back End services.
- Provide BAU support and technical oversight for existing registers.
- Collaborate across product, service design, and delivery teams.
- Coach and mentor developers and champion engineering best practices.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and cross-team governance.
- Experience with AWS (Lambda, CDK, S3, Aurora), TypeScript, React, and modern JavaScript.
- Proven experience in leading agile software teams.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, DevOps tooling, testing frameworks (e.g. Cypress), and monitoring (e.g. Grafana).
- Background in digital public services, accessibility, and GDS standards is highly desirable.
