Parity Network is recruiting on behalf of a public sector organisation for an experienced AWS DevSecOps / Cloud Platform Engineer to join a technical delivery team supporting and enhancing secure, resilient and highly available AWS platforms and applications. The role will combine AWS platform engineering, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, cloud security and application modernisation, with a strong focus on automation, secure-by-design principles and continuous improvement. You will work within Agile and DevOps delivery teams to develop, deploy and support production AWS services in a secure and regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Design, develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK.
- Deploy, operate and continuously improve DevSecOps toolchains and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement automated testing, security scanning and release management processes.
- Integrate security into development and deployment processes in line with secure-by-design and Zero Trust principles.
- Work collaboratively within Agile delivery teams using DevOps practices.
AWS Platform & Application Engineering
- Design, implement and support AWS Site-to-Site VPN solutions.
- Enhance, modernise and support existing AWS-hosted applications and services.
- Deploy and support containerised applications using Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop and support serverless applications using AWS Lambda.
- Design and support API-driven integrations using Amazon API Gateway and AWS Step Functions.
- Implement event-driven architectures using Amazon EventBridge, SNS, SQS and Kinesis.
- Deploy, configure and support cloud-native AWS services and platforms.
- Support highly available, secure and resilient production environments.
AWS Security & Monitoring
You will work with AWS-native security and monitoring capabilities, including:
- AWS Security Hub
- Amazon GuardDuty
- Amazon Inspector
- AWS Config
- AWS networking and security controls
- Cloud monitoring, automation and operational tooling
Essential Knowledge & Experience
- Proven experience developing, supporting and enhancing production AWS platforms.
- Strong practical experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK.
- Experience implementing and operating DevSecOps toolchains and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of AWS networking, security, monitoring and automation.
- Experience with container platforms including Amazon EKS and/or ECS.
- Experience with AWS Lambda and serverless technologies.
- Experience implementing event-driven architectures.
- Understanding of Zero Trust and secure-by-design principles.
- Knowledge of NCSC, GDS and UK Government security frameworks.
- Experience delivering technology services within secure and regulated environments.
- Experience working within Agile and DevOps environments.

Candidates must: Be eligible to obtain UK Government SC Clearance (or already hold SC clearance).
