This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced researcher to take ownership of their own projects and contribute to high-quality research within a complex, sensitive, and multidisciplinary environment.

Working under the supervision of the Head of Policy and Research, you will analyse information gathered, produce research reviews and evaluate evidence to support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative information gathered by wider teams.
  • Produce literature reviews and rapid reviews to inform and guide.
  • Research, identify and obtain relevant information from a range of sources, including historical records, government and local authority records, institutional records, legislation, and published research.
  • Review and evaluate the implementation of public policies.
  • Communicate research findings clearly to a range of stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of individual research projects, objectives, and deadlines.
  • Support the copy-editing and proofreading of reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality.
  • Work collaboratively across a multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide wider support to the Policy & Research Team as required.

About You

You will have experience gathering, managing, and analysing complex and sensitive information for research purposes, ideally within large-scale research projects and datasets. You will be highly organised, meticulous, and comfortable working independently while also contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team. The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight timescales is essential.

You will also have:

  • Excellent IT skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of English grammar and usage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Experience working on complex, large-scale research projects and datasets.
  • The ability to prioritise effectively according to project requirements and deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Resilience and the ability to work appropriately with sensitive and potentially distressing subject matter.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to contribute to work of significant public importance, working alongside colleagues from a range of professional disciplines and playing a direct role in research that will inform recommendations for future policy and practice.
