We are supporting a global engineering, technology, and project delivery organisation in the search for a Senior Project Controller to join their team based in Leatherhead.

This role is well suited to a cost‑focused Project Controls or Cost Engineering professional looking to take the next step in a structured, high‑quality project environment. The position has a primary focus on cost control and cost management, with secondary exposure to scheduling and risk (training provided where required).

Responsibilities

• Cost Management (Primary Focus)

• Supporting the development and maintenance of project cost control systems and coding structures
• Monitoring project budgets, commitments, actuals, and forecasts
• Preparing monthly cost reports, forecasts, and variance analysis for internal and external stakeholders
• Tracking cost trends and commercial changes, and supporting corrective actions

• Supporting the collection and validation of schedule data from project teams
• Assisting with schedule updates and progress tracking (Primavera P6 / MS Project)
• Identifying schedule deviations and contributing to recovery planning

What I need from you

• Proven experience in Project Controls, Cost Engineering, or a similar discipline
• Strong understanding of cost control principles and financial reporting
• Confident working with Excel and cost management systems
• Exposure to scheduling and risk management is beneficial, but not essential
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Clear communicator, comfortable working in collaborative project teams
• Good understanding of financial principles, including revenue and cost recognition
• Experience across the full project lifecycle in a delivery environment

Technical Skills

• Experience with cost systems such as Deltek Cobra, Costpoint, SAP, or similar
• Exposure to Primavera P6 and/or MS Project

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, STEM, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Professional certifications (e.g. AACE, PMI‑SP, PMP, APM) are desirable but not essential

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 5‑year UK footprint to support SC clearance eligibility
