Head of Economic Crime | Edinburgh, Bristol, or Leeds | £135,000 per annum| Hybrid Working
A leading UK retail bank is undergoing an exciting transformation within its Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I) business, focused on redefining the market through innovative, digital-first propositions.
The Head of Economic Crime role offers a rare opportunity to drive strategic change, build new ways of working, and deliver proactive fraud and financial crime controls. You will lead a high-performing team, collaborate across the Group, and maximise the use of data, MI, automation, and AI to protect customers and strengthen the control environment.
Reporting directly to the Chief Controls Officer (CCO) for IP&I, you will act as the Nominated Senior Manager (NSM) for Fraud, AML, Sanctions & Anti-Bribery, as well as Nominated Officer (NO) for Insurance. This is a senior leadership role with direct influence at Group level and a remit to shape the future of economic crime management.
What you’ll need
- Deep expertise as an economic crime practitioner across fraud, AML, sanctions, and anti-bribery.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and engage high-performing teams.
- A proven record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving control optimisation at scale.
- Experience using data, technology, and automation to transform fraud and financial crime functions.
- Knowledge of Insurance, Pensions & Investments and regulatory requirements.
- Agility, a growth mindset, and confidence in shaping solutions in complex environments.
