The Parish of Wanstead are looking to appoint an experienced Activity Plan Consultant to produce the Activity Plan and Action Plan for the development phase of our National Lottery Heritage Fund funded ‘Inspire Wanstead’ project. This is a £3.3 million project which will see the repair and reordering of the Grade II* listed Christ Church building, major environmental interventions to reduce our carbon footprint, and a three-year heritage activity programme with a particular focus on textiles and weaving to increase the use of the church, how people engage with its history, and build a sustainable future for the church.
We require the consultant to undertake the following:
- Provide expert advice on the development of the Activity Plan and Action Plan, drawing on comparator projects and good practice as per Heritage Fund guidelines.
- Draw up and deliver a consultation programme with the project team, building on the work already undertaken, and to include a range of methods from questionnaires, focus groups and interviews and pilot projects.
- Develop relationships with existing and potential stakeholders connected with the development of the Activity Plan.
- Work with project sub-groups to carry out activities in relation to the development of the Activity Plan.
- Work with and recruit volunteers to support with consultation.
- Develop the ideas for the archiving project, including developing the brief for the Archive Consultant in the delivery phase.
- Research and produce draft Sections 1 (Looking at where we are now) and 2 (Making strategic decisions about engaging more people) of the Activity Plan. For Section 3 (activity action plan) produce a long list of potential activities and associated costs for discussion and agreement with the Bid Leadership Team (based on activities set out in the first-round bid and subsequent development work).
- Incorporate the interpretation plan into the Activity Plan.
- Work with the Business Plan Consultant to ensure unity and cohesion between the two documents.
- Produce a complete Activity Plan that meets current Heritage Fund requirements, including a detailed budget, evaluation plans and any supporting briefs or job descriptions required for delivery.
- Become a member of a supportive and resourceful network of museum and heritage educators.
