Paris Wine Bar is one of Hove's most beloved wine bars and bistros, renowned for its warm, welcoming atmosphere, seasonal tapas and small plates, excellent wine selection and creative cocktails. Hours: 35 - 45 hours per week

Role Overview

We're seeking a passionate, experienced Manager to lead our front-of-house team and help deliver an exceptional guest experience every day. You will oversee daily operations, mentor staff, support service excellence, and collaborate with the Manager to ensure smooth service in a busy wine and tapas bar setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Supervise and train front-of-house staff.
    • Foster a positive, inclusive team culture.
    • Lead by example with high standards of service.
  • Customer Experience
    • Deliver outstanding guest service with attention to detail and warmth.
    • Handle customer feedback professionally and proactively.
    • Maintain smooth service flow during busy periods.
  • Operations & Bar Standards
    • Oversee opening/closing procedures and shift paperwork.
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
    • Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, and responsible service of alcohol.
  • Drinks & Food Knowledge
    • Be confident discussing wine, cocktails, spirits and menu items with guests.
    • Support wine & cocktail promotions and special events.
  • Financial Management
    • Control labour costs, manage service charge distribution fairly.
    • Assist with stock orders and basic reporting.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience managing a bar environment is essential.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Passion for wine, cocktails and hospitality.
  • Excellent organisational and customer service abilities.
  • Essential that the candidate is able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
