Pareto FM has an exciting opportunity for a Resident Maintenance Engineer (Mobile) to join our team supporting a portfolio of sites across North London. This role covers a defined local patch, requiring regular travel between sites. You’ll take ownership of your area, ensuring buildings are maintained to a high standard while working closely with the wider engineering and contract management team. You will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring all assets remain safe, compliant and fully operational.

The Role

As a Mobile Resident Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining building services across multiple sites within your allocated area. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
  • Maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems and plant
  • Fault finding across building services equipment and responding to breakdowns
  • Responding to BMS alarms and carrying out first-line diagnostics
  • Supporting and overseeing subcontractors on site
  • Ensuring all plant areas are safe, compliant and well maintained
  • Completing and updating simPRO tasks with clear records and photographic evidence
  • Maintaining logbooks and compliance documentation across sites
  • Monitoring environmental conditions via HVAC systems
  • Carrying out site walk-rounds to ensure systems are operating correctly
  • Reporting risks, hazards and plant issues to the Supervisor and Management team
  • Supporting plant operations including start-up, shutdown and system checks

You’ll be trusted to manage your own workload across sites while maintaining strong communication with both the client and internal teams.

Working Hours & On-Call

08:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday. Additional out-of-hours overtime may be required. Overtime is not guaranteed. On-call rota applies, with additional allowance.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced, self-motivated engineer who is comfortable working across multiple sites and managing their own time effectively. You should have:

  • Experience within Facilities Management or Building Services
  • Strong background in PPM and reactive maintenance
  • Experience fault finding across mechanical and electrical systems
  • A proactive and customer-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently across a mobile patch
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A flexible approach to working hours and on-call requirements

Qualifications & Technical Experience

Essential

  • City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
  • City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
  • 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations
  • Strong understanding of Electricity at Work Regulations

Desirable

  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing
  • IOSH Working Safely
  • IPAF / PASMA
  • Unvented hot water systems training
  • Experience with BMS, generators, HVAC systems, lighting and water systems
  • Knowledge of ACOP L8 / water hygiene
  • High Voltage systems experience
  • Experience working on equipment such as: Boiler plant and ventilation systems, Pumps and pressurisation systems, Generators and switchgear, Electrical distribution, small power and lighting
