Pareto FM is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Lead Electrical Engineer to join a prestigious site-based contract in London. This is a senior engineering position responsible for overseeing electrical maintenance operations, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical building systems, and supporting the ongoing operation of a technologically advanced workplace environment. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach. This role is approximately 50% hands-on and 50% supervisory, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical delivery and team leadership.
A company electric van will be provided for site duties, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
The Role
As Lead Electrical Engineer, you'll take ownership of electrical maintenance activities across the site, ensuring compliance, reliability, and operational excellence. You'll provide technical leadership, oversee high-voltage systems where applicable, support smart building operations, and act as a trusted point of contact for both the client and wider Pareto FM teams. This role would suit an experienced engineer who is comfortable working within a customer-facing environment and has experience supporting complex commercial buildings.
What You'll Be Doing
- Electrical Maintenance & Compliance
- Leading and coordinating planned and reactive electrical maintenance activities
- Ensuring electrical systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational
- Developing and managing preventative maintenance schedules
- Troubleshooting faults and providing effective technical solutions
- Monitoring electrical performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation
- Ensuring all statutory inspections and testing are completed in line with regulations
- Technical Leadership
- Providing technical guidance and support across the site
- Supporting fault diagnosis and problem resolution for complex issues
- Reviewing maintenance strategies and recommending improvements
- Working closely with the wider Pareto FM Central Technical Team
- Ensuring engineering standards and best practices are consistently maintained
- Team Leadership
- Managing and supporting an on-site Engineer and Fabric Technician

What We're Looking For
- Essential
- Recognised Electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC, HND or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- Strong experience within electrical maintenance and building services environments
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Strong understanding of UK electrical regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working with modern building technologies and systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Highly Desirable
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing
- High Voltage (HV) Authorised Person / Senior Authorised Person (SAP)
- Experience within commercial office or critical building environments
- Experience supporting smart building technologies and integrated building systems
