Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our Facilities Management team for one of our prestigious clients in Central London. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, safety, and compliance of all electrical systems on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility Maintenance
- Perform and complete Planned Preventive Maintenance (weekly, monthly PPM) tasks, ensuring all building systems function optimally.
- Own maintenance service requests from submission to completion and feed back to the client and Facilities Management team.
- Be the first line of response for all associated M&E and Fabric issues.
- Maintain records and computer-based record management systems to agreed standards including statutory testing and inspection, technical records, files, diaries, drawings and reports.
- Support H&S Inductions/Permit arrangements to enable subcontractors to undertake routine and emergency breakdown maintenance both in and out of hours.
- Support and manage subcontractors carrying out routine and emergency breakdown maintenance. Ensure that RAMS are appropriate, and contractors are complying with them at all times. Check and verify all work has been completed.
- Support the Facilities Manager with additional tasks such as Projects, H&S etc.
- Handyman Services
- Assemble, install, and repair furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Handle minor carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs.
- Troubleshoot and fix general maintenance issues to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
- Safety and Security
- Implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and incidents promptly.
- Collaborate with the facilities team to address any safety concerns.
- Vendor Management
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs or services.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure timely completion of work.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a handyman or workspace technician.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Basic carpentry and painting skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Knowledge of BMS/CAFM system a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
