Pareto FM is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Lead Electrical Engineer/supervisor to join a prestigious site-based contract in London. This is a senior engineering position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical building systems, and supporting the ongoing operation of a technologically advanced workplace environment. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach. This role is approximately 50% hands-on and 50% supervisory, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical delivery and team leadership. A company electric van will be provided for site duties, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.

As Lead Engineer/supervisor, you'll take ownership of electrical maintenance activities across the site, ensuring compliance, reliability, and operational excellence. You’ll provide technical leadership, oversee the site staff and support smart building operations, and act as a trusted point of contact for both the client and wider Pareto FM teams. This role would suit an experienced engineer who is comfortable working within a customer-facing environment and has experience supporting complex commercial buildings.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading and coordinating planned and reactive HVAC maintenance activities
  • Troubleshooting faults and providing effective technical solutions
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation
  • Ensuring all statutory inspections and testing are completed in line with current regulations
  • Managing and supporting an on-site Engineer and Fabric Technician
  • Allocating workloads and monitoring performance
  • Mentoring and developing team members
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and high standards of service delivery
  • Supporting training and professional development activities
  • Acting as a professional and customer-focused representative of Pareto FM
  • Building strong relationships with client stakeholders
  • Providing technical advice and support on building services matters
  • Supporting operational meetings and service reviews
  • Maintaining clear and professional communication at all levels

This is a full-time site-based position with no call-out rota requirement, offering the opportunity to focus on proactive maintenance and operational excellence without regular out-of-hours commitments.

What We're Looking For:

  • A strong understanding of HVAC systems operation (VAVs, FCUs, AHUs, cold water booster sets, BMS operation and interrogation, L8 duties, lighting and electrical knowledge, plumbing ability)
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience within commercial office or critical building environments
  • Experience supporting smart building technologies and integrated building systems

About You:

You’ll be a technically strong and highly professional engineer who enjoys taking ownership and leading by example. You’ll be equally comfortable carrying out hands-on engineering tasks, mentoring colleagues, and engaging with clients and stakeholders. You take pride in delivering high standards, solving problems proactively, and ensuring building systems operate safely and efficiently. Most importantly, you’ll understand the importance of professionalism, communication, and customer service within a high-profile environment.
